Westminster-Canterbury's Viewpoints Series

"Remembering for Both of Us: A Child Learns About Alzheimer's." Wood will discuss this book and have it available to sell and sign following her talk promoting Alzheimer's awareness at 11 a.m. April 4 as the second speaker in Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury's Viewpoints Series.

"For the family of a person experiencing Alzheimer's, it's so important to remember that the person is still special, that their life counts," Wood said. "Alzheimer's takes its toll, but your loved one hasn't disappeared. Remembering helps the victims and especially their loved ones."

Wood would like to write another book about her experience with Alzheimer's disease – this one geared for adults. She also is writing poems and short stories for children in collaboration with her brother.

The Viewpoints Series, which RWC started in 2002, features experts on a wide range of topics of current interest. These free presentations begin at 11 a.m. and are held on the first Monday of the month through June 6 in the Chesapeake Center Auditorium on RWC's campus, 132 Lancaster Dr., Irvington.
